Description:
The closed steel profiles serve as a supporting structure for the aluminium glazing profiles. The shape of the envelope of the two-storey reinforced concrete extension of the historical building of the Museum of Glass and Jewellery resembles a diamond. A specific feature of the 100% assembly-welded structure is that none of the surfaces of the “diamond” is identical to any other surface, either in size, shape or orientation in space. The steel structure encloses the space with floor plan dimensions of 17.1 m x 6 m on two floors.
