Description:
The Dubník transmitter with its height of 307 m is the highest structure in Slovakia. The tower is formed by a slender steel tube with an inner diameter of 2500 mm up to the level of +251 m. Up to this height, the transmitter is served by a lift. Above the level of +254.2 m, the tube continues with an internal diameter of 1600 mm. The wall thickness of the tower body is 10 mm or 14 mm in the base sections and sections with guy wire connection lugs, and 18 mm above the +254.2 m level. At the top of the steel tower at the height of +286 m, a 19.4 m high laminated cylindrical extension is attached. At its top, a vibration absorber is installed at a 1.5 m high steel section. At the base, the mast is embedded into the foundation footing. The guy wires are anchored in each direction in three concrete blocks. The guy wires are single strands coiled from galvanized wires with a diameter of 47.5 mm (48 mm after replacement), identical at all anchorage levels. The guy wires are finished with soldered ends with a pin. At the lower end of the guy wires there is a tensioning device anchored to the foundation block via a coupling with pins enabling vertical and horizontal rotation (gimbal). The guy wires are also anchored to the mast body in a similar way (via gimbals).
