Description:
The steel suspended pipe bridge with three spans of 18 m + 97 m + 35 m crosses the railway sidings of Třinecké železárny (steelmaking company), the Railway Administration corridor and the road. The bridge consists of a 2.2 m diameter pipe suspended on eight ropes (now FLC 60 mm) from a pair of pylons called “trapezes”, which are hinged on truss supports. The pipeline supplies blast furnace gas from the storage tanks to the steelmaking blast furnaces.
The work of EXCON, a.s. consisted in a comprehensive diagnosis of all parts of the steel structure, design and development of a technological procedure for the replacement of the original rope hinges (single-strand ropes of open cross-section with a diameter of 72 mm). Then the actual replacement of the original rope hinges - manufacturing and welding of new rope gusset plates, fitting of new ropes, deactivation of the original ropes and their dismantling.
